In a part of the world where buildings are tall, a shopping mall has an aquarium, and beaches are man-made, two artificial lakes form intertwining love hearts in Dubai’s Love Lake.
The incredible space covers an area of 55,000 square metres (592,015 sq ft) and Google Maps indicates that the Love Lake is visible from space.
The man-made lake was built back in 2018 and was given a significant publicity boost when the Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, posted an Instagram photo of it with the message ‘To all of you’. Since then, it has proven to be an extremely popular tourist destination for travellers in Dubai.
The location is toward the small area of Jebel Ali, which is just beneath Dubai, along the coast as you travel towards Abu Dhabi
It is surrounded by approximately 16,000 trees, with those on the edges forming a heart shape and a cluster on the inside spelling out the word ‘love’.
So what is there to do at Love Lake Dubai? Well, visitors can walk through parts of the lake’s shallowest points and admire colourful fish in another section of the man-made lake. You can also set-up picnics and barbeques in certain areas. But most importantly, Love Lake Dubai is a beautiful area to go and explore with the ones you love at this incredibly unique part of the world.
